Can't Sleep

Well I cannot sleep. I thought I'd check in and let ya know that i was promoted at my work several months ago but that may have been mentioned in another blog-post. Eh. Work has been going great for the most park, mostly because it's easy, but I've been looking for other jobs because I don't see any chance of moving in the business ladder AND getting paid a decent amount.

The band is going well. We're still recording and it's taking a long time. We've got about 3 or 4 songs done but we really gotta start dishing them out so we can write new songs. I'm getting tired of playing the same shit over and over again. I haven't been able to play as much because I have tendinitis mostly on the knuckle that connects to my pointer-finger. It doesn't help that I am typing all the time at work and then come home to play bass or guitar and then play a video games that requires even more typing. Hell, this blog is starting to require a lot of typing!

As of late, I have been reading a lot of classic literature. I've read the following in the past few months: Oliver Twist, Pride and Prejudice, Hamlet, & Don Quixote. Why? I have no idea. I've really just been in the mood for older literature. I wasn't a huge fan of Hamlet though, I just found it difficult to read due to the changes in English and also because I have to look at the translation on the other page to just to get an idea of what the hell they're talking about, hehe.

Well I better try to sleep again. It's 3:35AM and I have to wake up at 7:30AM.

Checking in

Thought I would post on my good 'ol blog that no one knows about, hehe. I recently started taking some music lessons and I've been actually practicing my vocals. My teach says my vocal range is pretty good and that I already have a good voice! Just gotta work on singing higher notes. It's great because we've been practicing a lot of Beatles songs.

So I think I might actually be interested in trying to meet someone again. I've been so busy with the band and work, it's hard to find the time. Oh yeah. I got promoted to a supervisor at work and received a bonus for it, hehe.

Well things are lookin pretty good. The band and I are working on our EP. It's going to be 8 tracks and I can't wait for it to be released, yeaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

A-Hello

So since we last spoke I was kind of bummed about not doing shows. Well since then we've done 3 shows together and they've all been kick-ass.

The unfortunate thing now is our drummer is in the hospital. They've been checking out his heart and we really hope he's okay. We have another show this wednesday and we don't know what to do. We might have someone be able to fill-in for us but it's not going to be the same.

It's very sad that this had to happen. Just when we were getting on the right track and even had a potential tour to look forward to, this happens. Well we're just saying our prayers in hope that our friend leaves the hospital unscathed.

Might have our first gig tomorrow. I'm really eager to see how it turns out. I've never performed on stage before and I think I"m gonna be nervous. But once I get into it, I'll probably enjoy it a lot. It's going to be here in Beaverton and it's going to be at some party and we're getting paid!!!!

South Park. The Decline?

Now I am an avid watcher of South Park and I have loved it since season one. I was really into the Simpsons when I was younger because it was edgy and and had a lot of things you wouldn't find in other shows. But when South Park came around, I was surprised by how further things were taken.

Since season one South Park has been controversial and has no never failed to offend and that's what makes it so funny. In all my years, I didn't think it would come but I think South Park is starting to lose it. I know the creators have been busy with their broadway show but lack of quality writing is becoming very noticeable.

In seasons past, there would often be an episode that was a dud. Sometimes two duds. So far all the episodes have either duds or near-duds. South Park started out pretty song if cultural references to the iPad while crossing it over with something unexpected like Human Centipede. But everything afterwords has been pretty lame. Funnybot, Giant Scott(he's a dick), Crack babies were all awful ideas.

I don't know how it looks on paper but I don't really think the show is taking as much time to make quality episodes as it has before. I feel it has been rushed and I'd like to see them take a season off rather than continue with these half-assed episodes.

Here's hoping that south park has a brighter future, CHEERS!
